Website Accessibility Audit
We audit websites against WCAG 2.2 Level AA for businesses in the USA, the UK, Canada and Australia. Website Accessibility Audit: how we do it.
What the audit covers
We test a representative set of pages and the key tasks people come to your site for, such as finding information, filling in a form, booking or buying. Automated tools scan the site for issues they can detect, then we test by hand with a keyboard, a screen reader and zoom, which finds the problems automated tools miss.
Every issue in the report says where it is, which WCAG success criterion it relates to, who it affects and how to fix it, in order of priority.
The laws behind it
Accessibility rules differ by country, and WCAG is the common technical standard behind most of them. In the USA, the Department of Justice has long said the ADA applies to businesses' websites; in Ontario, the AODA requires larger organizations to meet WCAG; in the UK, the Equality Act 2010 applies; businesses selling into the EU may be covered by the European Accessibility Act; and Australia has the Disability Discrimination Act.
Our guides explain them in plain language: ADA and WCAG for US businesses, AODA for Ontario and UK website accessibility. An audit is technical advice, not legal advice.
From report to fixed site
Most issues come from a few shared templates and components, such as the header, menus, forms and buttons, so fixing them once repairs every page that uses them. We can make the fixes on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Laravel and React or Next.js sites, then re-test to confirm each one.
We also show your team how to keep new content accessible: alt text, heading order, link text and captions.
Why overlays aren't enough
Accessibility widgets and overlays that promise one-line compliance don't fix the underlying code, and they can get in the way of the assistive technology people already use. A real audit and real fixes are the reliable route to a site everyone can use.

Which standard do you audit against?
WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the current version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Content that meets WCAG 2.2 also meets the older 2.0 and 2.1 versions that some laws still name.
Is an automated scan enough?
No. Automated tools find only part of the problems. We combine them with manual testing using a keyboard, a screen reader and zoom, which is where most of the barriers people actually meet are found.
Can you fix the issues as well as find them?
Yes. We can fix the issues in your site's templates, components and content on most common platforms, then re-test to confirm the fixes work.
Will the audit make us legally compliant?
An audit shows how your site measures up against WCAG and what to fix. It's technical guidance, not legal advice; for questions about your own legal obligations, speak to a lawyer.
